حققت المملكة المركز الأول عالميًا في مؤشر تنمية الاتصالات والتقنية 2026 الصادر عن الاتحاد الدولي للاتصالات، الذي يرصد اقتصادات 159 دولة لقياس التطور الرقمي وتقدم الدول في خدمات الاتصالات والتقنية من خلال عدد من المؤشرات الفرعية التي قُسّمت على محوري الاتصال الشامل والفعال.
وأوضحت هيئة الاتصالات والفضاء والتقنية أن هذا الإنجاز يأتي نتيجة لتحقيق المملكة مراكز متقدمة في محوري الاتصال الشامل والفعال، مما يؤكد التحديث المتواصل والدعم غير المحدود من القيادة الرشيدة لقطاع الاتصالات والتقنية في المملكة، إضافة إلى ما تتمتع به المملكة من بنية تحتية رقمية شاملة عززت مكانتها الريادية عالميًا في مختلف المؤشرات ذات العلاقة بالقطاع.
وبيّنت الهيئة أن استمرار تصدر المملكة في هذا المؤشر يؤكد ما تشهده المملكة من تطور في البنية التحتية والبيئة التنظيمية التي أسهمت في تعزيز ريادتها الدولية ونمو الاقتصاد الرقمي فيها، حيث قفز حجم سوق الاتصالات والتقنية إلى 199 مليار ريال بنهاية عام 2025، بمعدل نمو سنوي مركب بلغ 8% في آخر 5 سنوات؛ ليرسخ مكانة السوق الأكبر والأسرع نموًا في منطقة الشرق الأوسط وشمال أفريقيا، ووصلت نسبة مستخدمي الإنترنت في المملكة 100%، ونسبة امتلاك الهاتف المتنقل في المملكة 100%، بالتزامن مع وصول وسيط سرعة الإنترنت الثابت إلى 151 ميجابت في الثانية ووصول وسيط سرعة الإنترنت المتنقل إلى 216 ميجابت في الثانية.
يُذكر أن المملكة حافظت على موقعها ضمن أعلى مراتب مؤشر تنمية الاتصالات والتقنية (IDI)، مما يعكس نموًا متسارعًا وريادةً متواصلة رسّخت مكانتها دوليًا.
The Kingdom has achieved the first place globally in the 2026 Telecommunications and Technology Development Index issued by the International Telecommunication Union, which monitors the economies of 159 countries to measure digital development and the progress of countries in telecommunications and technology services through a number of sub-indicators divided into the axes of comprehensive and effective communication.
The Communications, Space and Technology Authority clarified that this achievement comes as a result of the Kingdom attaining advanced positions in the axes of comprehensive and effective communication, which confirms the continuous modernization and unlimited support from the wise leadership for the telecommunications and technology sector in the Kingdom, in addition to the comprehensive digital infrastructure that the Kingdom enjoys, which has enhanced its global leadership position in various related sector indicators.
The Authority indicated that the continued leadership of the Kingdom in this index confirms the development that the Kingdom is witnessing in infrastructure and the regulatory environment that has contributed to enhancing its international leadership and the growth of its digital economy, as the size of the telecommunications and technology market jumped to 199 billion riyals by the end of 2025, with a compound annual growth rate of 8% over the last 5 years; solidifying its position as the largest and fastest-growing market in the Middle East and North Africa. The percentage of internet users in the Kingdom reached 100%, and the percentage of mobile phone ownership in the Kingdom also reached 100%, coinciding with the fixed internet speed median reaching 151 megabits per second and the mobile internet speed median reaching 216 megabits per second.
It is noteworthy that the Kingdom has maintained its position among the highest ranks of the Telecommunications and Technology Development Index (IDI), reflecting accelerated growth and continuous leadership that has solidified its international standing.
