مكاسب اقتصادية رئيسية لمشروع الضبعة النووي لتوليد الكهرباء

Today, we explore the substantial economic benefits arising from the El-Dabaa Nuclear Power Plant, a collaboration with the Russian government-backed company Rosatom. This facility aims to generate 4,800 megawatts of electricity. Below are some of the key advantages associated with the El-Dabaa project.

First, the project aims to reduce electricity production costs while promoting a diverse energy mix that lessens dependence on natural gas. This strategic shift could lead to greater energy security for the region.

Additionally, the initiative is expected to conserve approximately 7 billion cubic meters of gas, significantly reducing annual carbon dioxide emissions by 14.5 million tons. Such environmental benefits enhance the sustainability of energy production in Egypt.

Moreover, the project will create around 54,000 job opportunities for Egyptians throughout the construction phase. This influx of employment is essential for local economies and communities.

Another notable achievement is the establishment of “Nawah City,” which marks the first residential community in the El-Dabaa area. With an investment of about 1.212 billion Egyptian pounds, this city spans 2,380 acres and symbolizes the peaceful nuclear program’s commitment to benefiting the residents of El-Dabaa.

Furthermore, El-Dabaa will house the first specialized nuclear technical school in the Middle East. This institution will enroll 75 students each year, providing training in nuclear technology. Graduates are anticipated to join the Nuclear Power Plants Authority upon completion of their studies.

The overall investment cost for the El-Dabaa project exceeds 25 billion dollars, marking it as a significant financial undertaking.

Finally, the project aims to localize nuclear industry practices. The local content in the first reactor’s operation is estimated to be between 20% and 25%. This number will remain consistent for the second reactor, while local content is expected to rise to 35% for the third and fourth reactors.

The El-Dabaa Nuclear Power Plant represents a transformative step forward in Egypt’s energy landscape, promising not only economic prosperity but also environmental sustainability.
