يُمثّل الدكتور أمين ساعاتي- عليه رحمة الله- ابناً شرعياً للرياضة ممارسةً وتوثيقاً وشغفاً، ففي كل منحى له بصمة.
تربّت الأجيال المهتمة بالرياضة على حضور هذا الأمين من خلال مؤلفات أثرى بها المكتبة الرياضية، وعُرف باتحاديته التي لا يتردد في التباهي بها، وهذا حقه.
ورث منه أبناء الساعاتي التاريخ الرياضي الذي نحترمه ونقدر له ذاك الجهد.
ولست بصدد الحديث عن إرث أمين، فهو أكبر من أن آتي عليه في هذه السطور.
إلا أن حقبة تاريخية كان ينبغي أن يُشار إليها من خلال من يهمه التاريخ الرياضي معنية بالدكتور أمين ساعاتي الذي كتب التاريخ، وشهد عليه، ونافح عنه، وتم إهمال صفحة مهمة من تاريخ كتبه أمين معنية به وببدايته لاعباً في الأهلي، وعندما اعتزل الرياضة لم يرَ نفسه فيها عملاً في الأهلي، وكان ينبغي لهذه الصفحة أن لا تُهمل على الأقل من أخيه الزميل نبيه ساعاتي؛ لأن هذه الصفحة تمثل الشيء الكثير لأمين، فهي بوابة مهمة فتحت له آفاقاً واسعةً، فلماذا يا صديقي نبيه تذهب إلى تأكيد انشقاق الأهلي والشواهد بين يديكم؟!
أنا أقولها صدقاً: لا يمكن أن أجرّد أمين من اتحاديته كما أنت، لكن مرحلة الأهلي جزء مهم من تاريخه، فلماذا تختفي بهذه السهولة مع أنها إضافة للدكتور أمين ولم تنتقص منه.
تغييب تلك المرحلة يحتمل عدة افتراضات أهمها- على الأقل من وجهة نظري- شيء يخص أمين وأشياء أخرى معنية بميول لا تريد لها أن تظهر..
أمين ساعاتي منذ أن عرفته والتقيته في «عكاظ» اتحادي، لكنه كان يحترم الأهلي ولا يعيبه أن بدأ في الأهلي واتجه للاتحاد.
المهم يا نبيه أتمنى أن تحدثنا عن تلك المرحلة التي كان فيها أمين أهلاوياً مخلصاً.
Dr. Amin Sahati – may God have mercy on him – represents a legitimate son of sports in practice, documentation, and passion; in every aspect, he leaves his mark.
Generations interested in sports have grown up witnessing this guardian through his writings, which enriched the sports library. He is known for his affiliation with the Union, which he proudly boasts about, and this is his right.
His children inherited from him the sports history that we respect and appreciate for his efforts.
I am not here to discuss Amin’s legacy; it is too great to cover in these lines.
However, there is a historical era that should be mentioned through those who care about sports history, specifically concerning Dr. Amin Sahati, who wrote history, witnessed it, defended it, and an important page of the history he wrote has been neglected, which relates to him and his beginnings as a player in Al-Ahli. When he retired from sports, he did not see himself working in Al-Ahli. This page should not have been overlooked, at least by his colleague, Nabeel Sahati, because this page represents a lot for Amin; it is an important gateway that opened wide horizons for him. So why, my friend Nabeel, do you go to emphasize the split in Al-Ahli while the evidence is in your hands?
I say it honestly: I cannot strip Amin of his affiliation with the Union as you do, but the Al-Ahli phase is an important part of his history. So why does it disappear so easily when it is an addition to Dr. Amin and does not detract from him?
Neglecting that phase allows for several assumptions, the most important of which – at least from my point of view – is something related to Amin and other matters concerning inclinations that do not want to be revealed…
Amin Sahati, since I met him at “Okaz,” has been a Union supporter, but he respected Al-Ahli and did not see it as a flaw that he started at Al-Ahli and then moved to the Union.
The important thing, Nabeel, is that I hope you will talk to us about that phase when Amin was a loyal Al-Ahli supporter.
