لم يكتفِ الشاب بالصراخ، بل استل سلاحاً أبيض ونفذ اعتداءً دموياً، حيث وجه طعنات قاتلة لوالدته قبل أن يُقدم على تهشيم رأسها لتلفظ أنفاسها الأخيرة في مشهد مأساوي، ثم التفت إلى والده وانهال عليه بالطعنات ليتركه غارقاً في دمائه.
بدورها، تحركت قوات الأمن التونسية بسرعة فور تلقي البلاغ، ونجحت في إلقاء القبض على الابن العاق، وتم نقله فوراً إلى مركز الإيقاف. وفي الوقت ذاته، أمرت النيابة العامة بـ:
