وزارة الزراعة تقدم سلالات ماشية عالية الإنتاجية: 8 أطنان من الحليب سنوياً بالتقسيط على 5 سنوات

The Ministry of Agriculture and Land Reclamation has announced the importation of high-yielding livestock breeds to bolster local production. This initiative is part of the “Fatlas” project, which includes purebred “Viking Jersey” cows and Italian buffalo heifers. The imported animals have completed the necessary quarantine period to ensure their safety and readiness for transfer.

To facilitate the process for breeders and maximize benefits, the ministry has established a set of accessible conditions, with one of the most critical being that the farm must obtain an operating license from the Ministry of Agriculture.

Regarding financial aspects, breeders are required to pay 30% of the contracted value of each animal as a down payment. The remaining amount can be paid over five years at a decreasing interest rate of 5%. Additionally, a generous grace period of nine months is provided during which breeders are exempt from any payments.

In support of the milk collection system, beneficiaries are required to supply the milk they produce to accredited or developed collection centers, ensuring that the transactions adhere to market prices.

The heifers offered have remarkable productivity features aligned with the initiative’s goals. These breeds are well-suited to Egyptian climatic conditions, with an average milk production of 6 to 8 tons per season per animal. They also possess a high fat content ranging from 4% to 5%.

Furthermore, the initiative places significant emphasis on animal health. These heifers exhibit high fertility rates and natural resistance to mastitis. Comprehensive veterinary and nutritional care is assured for them.

In light of these facilitations and advantages, the ministry has urged interested breeders to seize the opportunity to enhance their productivity and increase their income. Applications are accepted at animal production departments within agricultural directorates or veterinary directorates across the provinces.

The ministry also confirmed that it will allocate funds specifically for feeding the heifers and will provide all necessary technical and veterinary guidance for breeding and care processes.
